Pacific Aviation Museum
At my presentation at the East West Center at the University of Hawaii, I was honored that Admiral (Retired) Ronald Hays attended. After serving as Deputy Director of Naval Operations, he was CINCPAC (Commander in Chief, Pacific Fleet). Admiral Hays is one of the few 4-Star Admirals in the history of the US Navy.
We talked after my presentation, and I learned that he is the Chairman of the Pacific Aviation Museum, which recently bought the English-language bible that belonged to Captain Mitsuo Fuchida, leader of the attack on Pearl Harbor. The museum is also refurbishing the world's only complete Kate (Nakajima B5N), the Imperial Japanese Navy's torpedo bomber which played a key role in the attack on Pearl Harbor.
