The Emperor (終戦のエンペラー)
During my research for my Pearl Harbor book, I met Yoko Narahashi, producer of The Emperor (終戦のエンペラー), starring Tommy Lee Jones. (Narahashi-san is a well-known casting director--The Last Samurai with Tom Cruise and Ken Watanabe--and producer--Babel with Brad Pitt.)
In The Emperor, which was screened in the US and Japan, she features her grandfather, Teizaburo Sekiya, who was the Vice Minister of the Imperial Household Agency and played a key role in setting up the first meeting between General Douglas MacArthur and Emperor Hirohito.
